Margaret was a much admired and respected Trustee of our charity from 2004 and 2011, having previously served as a volunteer at our international general secretariat in Geneva for 2 years. She had trained as a social worker and had experience in local authorities and as a trainer and consultant.
During her time with our charity, Margaret was the first leader of our group of trustees that specialise in providing expert advice to our social work staff team – what is now called our Policy & Practice Group. However, perhaps her greatest service to us came after she had completed her time as a trustee; Margaret spent 2 years writing the history of our charity since its foundation in 1955. It is a superbly researched and written account of our unique UK charity that runs to 253 pages.
Margaret had remained an active supporter of our work, right up until March 2020, when she sadly passed away suddenly.
Her Memorial Service was held in a packed Worcester Cathedral on 17th September and our President was present to pay his respects on behalf of everyone associated with CFAB.
